Professor Ken Dalston also gives talks at meetings and after dinner entertainment entitled "That's the way to do it!" telling the story of his life as a Punch and Judy Man over the last 60+ years.
My talk about my life as a “Punch and Judy man” always seems to go down well and caters for all age groups! While I charge a commercial rate for my puppet performances, when I give a talk about my experiences I just ask for cover of my travel expenses and then I am happy to accept a donation for my nominated charity “The Shooting Star Hospice.” The Shooting Star hospice provides essential care and support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, free of charge, 365 days a year and it is my contribution to assist them as many of the children involved cannot enjoy my puppet shows. I normally find that I can hold an audience for between 30 - 60 minutes depending on their mood and response with a question and answer slot at the end of the session.
